Dell Display Manager Mac

  1. Dell Display Manager is a Windows application used to manage a monitor or a group of monitors. It allows manual adjustment of the displayed image, assignment of automatic settings, energy management, window organization, image rotation and other features on select Dell models. Once installed, Dell Display Manager will run each.
  2. Just bought a wonderful Dell U3415W. I have realized there is no 'Manager Display' for OS X. Wonder if Dell is going to release it and when. It's a shame not to have such application for Mac users.

Monitors don't have Mac drivers. You just plug it in and use it.

Display popped up immediately. At this point I was in the simplest configuration: display connected directly to laptop and no docking station. Given all my troubleshooting I believe the culprit was the Mac itself. The display and cable were working, it was the Mac that got into a state where it could not see external Thunderbolt devices. The macOS App driver does not allow me to operate on external monitors with the laptop closed. I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall the one from November to be able to work in clamshell mode. This is glitchy in the old driver, often freezing my computer. I was hoping to see this stabilize so I wouldn't have to restart so often (almost every time I disconnect my laptop from the docking.

If 4K is your goal, then you must use the DisplayPort or mini DisplayPort connection. That's the only one that can carry that much resolution. And it can't be a kludge. Like DVI on the Mac and converted to DisplayPort on the other end. You'll still be limited to DVI's highest resolution and refresh rate.

And of course, the video hardware in your Mac must be able to support that high of a resolution to start with.
